ABOUT ME
Chris Symons
I have always been passionate about health and fitness. That passion has only grown as I’ve aged and realized that with proper programming and lifestyle choices, I could extend my prime.
In 2011, at the age of 32, I represented Canada as a member of the Canadian National Australian Rules Football Team. I would have happily represented Canada again if it weren’t for a knee injury during a league game in the OAFL. The bright side of this injury is that it taught me about the importance of personal training as part of the rehabilitation process.
In 2015, I made the difficult decision to leave a stable job to follow my passion and become a personal trainer. This career change rekindled my love of learning and I dedicated my time to continuing my education to be the best trainer I possibly could. Today I am proud and honoured that I've been able to help numerous clients reach and exceed their fitness goals by making athletic training accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. Training like an athlete means a focus on balance, mobility, stability, and power.
Although I’m a personal trainer, I am first and foremost a father. I train to maintain my strength and energy to keep up with a busy toddler and to ensure that I can continue to throw him into the air and take him on portages well into my senior years. I train to build a capable body that allows me to enjoy my life with my family and play recreational basketball and softball with my friends without injury.

SUCCESS STORIES
Until I met Chris my belief about core strengthening always meant weight training i.e. isolated weight lifting. I have three discs in my lower back that have caused a lot of issues over the years…
Chris has now been my "mobility coach" for the past three months and I would not have believed that the improvements achieved in a relatively short period would be possible. My range of motion has already increased, my hips who have always been my worst enemy in terms of flexibility are showing actual changes for the better. Most of the training Chris uses focuses on extending my range of motion, using mostly body weight exercises with a sprinkling of kettle bells and as a result my die hard weight training beliefs are being gradually replaced by Chris' holistic approach of combining strength training with mobility.
Needless to say I will keep training with Chris and look forward to further victories in my daily life!

My son recommended Chris as my trainer and I could not be more pleased. He has given me more confidence and strength than I would ever have believed. He is highly knowledgeable and seems to be aware of every single muscle, tendon and ligament that is involved in each exercise. It was strength in my leg muscles I wanted to increase but my whole body has seen phenomenal results. I’m also becoming proud of a flat torso and more sculpted arms.
I would never have believed 3 months ago that I would be capable of the strength and stability I have attained. Furthermore, I feel better after a session, both physically and mentally. Chris is an encouraging coach and teacher. Now if I had only started this 20 years ago…
